Alessia Michelotti

Alessia Michelotti received her M.Sc. at the University of Turin where she studied carborane-based theranostic agents for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy applications with Prof. Annamaria Deagostino. She obtained her PhD in Chemistry in 2019 at Paris-Saclay University in collaboration with CortecNet, under the supervision of Dr. Charlotte Martineau-Corcos and Dr. Maxime Roche where she developed metal-catalyzed C-H deuteration and 13C labelling of endogenous bioactive molecules for DNP-NMR/MRI studies. She then joined BioVersys in Lille in 2019 as a junior researcher in medicinal chemistry, involved in the development of first-in-class stand-alone anti-virulence small molecule drugs for the treatment of S. aureus infections. At BioVersys, she is currently a Senior Scientist contributing to various early stage medicinal chemistry programmes for the development of new molecules against critical antimicrobial resistant pathogens.

D. in Organic Chemistry from Queen Mary University of London, with particular expertise in the commercial development of life science products. He has a wide range of professional experience, from research project management to senior positions in companies specialising in pharmaceutical and biotechnology technologies. His academic background also includes high-level studies in molecular chemistry and cognitive sciences at prestigious institutions in France.

Denis Giguère

Professor of chemistry at Université Laval since 2014, specialising in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. His field of expertise lies in the preparation of saccharides for medical purposes and the synthesis of biologically active natural products. He is also interested in the synthesis of fluorinated carbohydrates, synthetic vaccines based on saccharides and the synthesis of natural products. He is affiliated with several renowned professional associations, including the Chemical Institute of Canada, the American Chemical Society, the Quebec protein research group (PROTEO) and the Quebec drug research network (RQRM).
